Constitution
QSN is a membership organisation for individuals who are responsible for the management of quality and academic standards within UK higher education. It provides a forum for the discussion of key issues relating to quality management and enhancement and organises an annual conference and smaller symposium events to discuss specific topics of interest.
Our purpose
- To engage proactively with key issues of quality assurance, enhancement and management
- To provide co-ordinated leadership for its practitioner members in interacting with relevant national bodies
- To provide a forum where members can share good practice
- To provide a mechanism through which institutions can discuss their collective responses to various consultations, sector issues and anticipated challenges, and/or inform individual institution responses
Our members
- We are a membership organisation run by our members. The membership establishes an Executive Committee of up to 20 members, representative of the range of subscribing institutions, from which a Chair, Deputy Chair and Treasurer are appointed
- Membership is open to all institutions that subscribe to QAA. Each member institution nominates one Institutional Representative, who receives regular updates on QSN activities
- Individual Members – Any person who has significant experience of working in management of quality and academic standards within UK higher education, who is not a member of staff of any Institution that is or is eligible to be in membership of the Network and is deemed by Executive Committee to have legitimate interests in UK Higher Education and who agrees to pay the prescribed annual subscription. Individuals who work for commercial software companies are not eligible to be members of QSN.
Our activities
- We seek to achieve its purposes through the organisation of conferences, seminars, workshops, and other appropriate gatherings, and the dissemination of outcomes from these activities.
- During the 2021/22 and 2022/23 academic years, we will run a mixture of face-to-face events (including the annual conference) and webinars.
