Our constitution
QSN is a membership organisation for individuals who are responsible for the management of quality and academic standards within UK higher education. It provides a forum for the discussion of key issues relating to quality management and enhancement and organises an annual conference and smaller webinars or symposia to discuss specific topics of interest.
Our purposes
- To engage proactively with key issues of quality assurance, enhancement and management
- To provide a forum where members can share good practice
- To provide a mechanism through which institutions can discuss their collective responses to various consultations, sector issues and anticipated challenges, and/or inform individual institution responses
- To provide co-ordinated leadership for its practitioner members in interacting with relevant national bodies
Our activities
- We seek to achieve our purposes through the organisation of an annual conference, webinars and symposia and the dissemination of the outcomes from these activities.
Our members
- We are a membership organisation run by our members. The membership establishes an Executive Committee of up to 20 members, representative of the range of subscribing institutions, from which a Chair and Deputy Chair/s are appointed
- Institutional Members – Institutions which deliver higher education are eligible for QSN membership. Each member institution nominates one Institutional Representative, who receives regular updates on QSN activities
- Individual Members – Any person who has significant experience of working in the management of quality and academic standards within UK higher education, who is not a member of staff of a higher education institution, who is deemed by the Executive Committee to have legitimate interests in UK Higher Education and who agrees to pay the annual subscription, is eligible for QSN membership. Individuals who work for commercial software companies are not eligible to be members of QSN.
